Mosaic is an ancient art form that immortalized both everyday and mythological scenes from the Roman Empire. For over 200 years, the Cassio family of mosaicists has kept this tradition. You are invited to our historic studio in the lively Monti neighborhood where we will share ancient secrets about the craft that you can apply to your own work of art. Surrounded by original tools, sketches by famous Italian artists, and important mosaic masterpieces, you will learn about distinctly Roman techniques. During this course, you will create your own unique piece of art — utilizing the principles of texture, composition, and marble tile cutting in the process. A master mosaicist will guide you based on ancient Roman mosaic rules and methods. You will leave the workshop with a one-of-a-kind, 7 by 5 inch masterpiece to commemorate your time in the Eternal City. Please note, this workshop requires handling various tools. For safety reasons, we recommend this experience to those over the age of 12.

The grannies of our small village will show you how to prepare the perfect handmade pasta—no machines, just your hands, the freshest local ingredients, and love. All of these women started to make pasta in their childhood, keeping alive a tradition that is slowly disappearing. And they are ready to pass it to you! You’ll be part of our crazy big family for a day and join us as we walk the tiny medieval streets of Palombara Sabina to Grandma’s kitchen, located in the old winepress where our great-grandpas used to make wine that the community tapped straight from the barrel (or in Grandma's home... according to the weather). It's a special place for our family and the entire village. We will cook Ravioli, Fettuccine and Farfalle... you will be in a food coma at the end of the experience! During our time together, you’ll gain an insider’s view of Rome’s contemporary art scene, from major figures to emerging artists and galleries. Along the way, I’ll share stories about San Lorenzo’s transformation from an industrial quarter into a thriving contemporary art district. • We’ll begin at my studio, located in the courtyard of historic “Palazzo Sartorio” in the heart of San Lorenzo. I’ll offer insights into my artistic process and philosophy as we explore my latest projects and discuss the evolving role of art in today’s world. • From there, we’ll stroll the vibrant streets of San Lorenzo, home to numerous art studios, galleries, and universities. • We’ll visit key spots such as the contemporary art hub Fondazione Pastificio Cerere (a cultural nexus housed in a former pasta factory) and dynamic galleries like Gilda Lavia, Monitor, and Materia. By the end of the tour, you’ll have a deeper understanding of contemporary Roman art and its history. I’ll also leave you with recommendations for authentic local food and drinks, so you can fully immerse yourself in both the artistic and culinary sides of San Lorenzo from a local perspective.

O ritmo é lento e eu falo d+. Este passeio é oferecido por um cara que realmente ama história, para pessoas igualmente interessadas. Beleza? Ofereço 3 passeios a pé (não entramos em nenhum local que exija ingresso) e cada um deles possui percursos e horários diferentes. Veja o percurso e o horário de cada um mais abaixo na página e escolha aquele que preferir. Em relação ao custo, este é um passeio guiado a pé e, geralmente, este tipo de passeio é baseado em gorjetas, portanto no final da experiência, aceito aquilo que você estiver disposto a deixar. Em relação ao ponto de encontro, cada passeio possui o seu próprio local de partida, podendo não ser o mesmo.
