Walk and picnic atop Fiesole with a local architect

- This quiet walk and picnic in Fiesole will allow you to experience the "genius loci" of the beauty of the spirit of the place. -The walk is 1.5 km (about 1 mile) uphill! average gradient is 13% and the elevation gain is 195 meters, so it is not a flat walk! - The meeting point is about 6 km from the center of Florence. I recommend taking the No. 7 bus in Piazza Libertà and getting off at the "Di San Domenico Istituto Europeo" stop. - We will meet at the San Domenico fountain in the town of Fiesole and then move on to pick up schiacciata, a traditional Tuscan flatbread, for our picnic. - We will begin the walk by following the ancient Etruscan road to Fiesole. Along the way we will encounter the evidence that places have bequeathed to us from human labor as a union of artifice and nature. - At the Convent of San Francesco, at the top of the hill, we will stop to enjoy our picnic and the panoramic view of Florence and the surrounding hills. Afterwards, we will return to Piazza Mino, where I will recommend having a well-deserved coffee or aperitif. - It will be an evocative ascent to gain a fulfilled physical and mental state through which to view Florence from a different perspective !

Craft a wooden puzzle at a master artisan's atelier

Step into my San Frediano studio and explore the timeless art of wood marquetry. Using traditional techniques, you’ll cut, assemble, and burnish veneers to craft your own wooden puzzle, blending ancient Florentine methods with Japanese precision. • We’ll begin with a brief history of marquetry and my philosophy of fusing Japanese and Italian techniques. • Learn to cut and assemble fine wood veneers like ebony, rosewood, and mahogany, creating intricate designs. I’ll demonstrate the process before you try it with a selection of veneers. • Discover the Florentine method of sand burning, adding depth and shading to your pieces for a rich, dimensional effect. Using traditional tools and techniques, you’ll polish and finish three small pieces to take home as personalized souvenirs from my studio.

Step into the world of Florentine flavors in a hands-on chocolate-making workshop at Donamalina, combining local ingredients and timeless techniques. • Meet at my private chocolate laboratory, where I’ll share my journey from violinist to chocolatier and explain what makes Florentine chocolate so special. • Craft Duomo Cathedral-inspired chocolates using premium melted chocolate, and add creative ingredients like dried fruits, nuts, and edible flowers to personalize your creations. I’ll share tips on how to combine flavors and textures. • After our chocolates have set, taste our creations together. You’ll be able to appreciate the art of chocolate making in every bite. You’ll leave with your beautifully wrapped chocolates as a sweet souvenir, and my recommendations on experiencing more Florentine chocolate.

Take a break from travel fatigue and experience a deeper connection with Italian culture by mastering the art of homemade pasta in our hands-on cooking class in Florence. Join us at our cooking school in the historic city centre, right by the Arno River, for a fun, interactive and unique experience led by professional chefs. In various shapes, you’ll learn the secrets of making traditional Italian pasta like RAVIOLI, FETTUCCINE, and TORTELLI. We provide everything you need—kitchen apron, rolling pin, pasta cutter, eggs, and flour. After crafting your pasta, we’ll cook it together and enjoy the meal family-style with the group. Tomato sauce for fettuccine is made in advance and butter&sage is made in front of you. The experience is held in English, lasts around 3 hours and includes connecting with fellow travellers while sipping organic Tuscan wine from our farm, “Dalle Nostre Mani.” At the end, enjoy some chocolate dessert with a shot of limoncello. English instructions are provided, ensuring you leave with the skills to impress friends and family back home!

Immerse yourself in the Tuscan countryside with 3 different experiences! We'll meet in Florence, where a driver will take you to our farm in just 45 minutes. What will we do? 1) Walk among country fields, ancient olive trees and vineyards, enjoy the landscape, the plants, the explanation of our history with plenty of opportunities to capture stunning photos.
 You may even meet our friendly, domesticated pig! In September taste the grapes! 2) Visit the cellar and taste 5 organic Tuscan wines: white, red, aged straight from the barrel, and "Vin Santo" a classic sweet wine. You’ll also sample our premium olive oil and watch a short film about our mission. You'll have the chance to purchase wines at exclusive cellar prices or order them to ship. 3) The final part is all about making fresh pasta! Raffaella or Laura will teach you how to craft it using authentic techniques, then cook all your pasta together (it won't be possible to do individual cooking) to enjoy it as a group at a long table, just like a traditional Italian family. Our organic wine will accompany the meal. We'll be around 20 participants for an authentic Italian experience. IMPORTANT INFORMATION: The round trip to Florence has a cost of 20 Euro per person to be paid directly to the driver by card before the return journey.

Learn facts about the history, culinary and culture with spectacular panoramic views of the most important attractions of the city such as the Cathedral, Palazzo Vecchio, Basilica di Santa Croce, and more! **In the morning visit a local historic market and sample traditional dishes. At the market you will sample olive oil and different kinds of truffles. **In the evening you will admire the sunset, the beautiful Ponte Vecchio and its surroundings. This walking tour is a great combination of savor and sweet, samples of the best food in town combined with a great explanation about art, culture and history. Taste local Florentine pasta at a local trattoria from 1860. Sample local specialties like "Coccole" and "Schiacciata" combined with wine, and much more! There will be more or less 5 food stops along the way! Eat like the locals, meet the small shop proprietors, visit a local market, get a wide variety of foods and learn all about some of the most interesting sites and monuments of Florence. Vegetarians can be accommodated. This experience cannot accommodate vegan, gluten or dairy-free diets. Extra drinks are not included. The market is closed in the evenings.
