It is a non profit social enterprise and supports kea and kiwi conservation work. Opening in 2020, Te Whare o Kea is a Gold Kea Sponsor, and to date has donated over $20,000 to the Kea Conservation Trust. It also supports the monitoring of kea nest sites in the Cobb Valley and maintains a 17 trap trapline and trail camera behind Te Whare.

The Tower is a comfortable two storey, seperate building with an upstairs bedroom with ensuite bathroom. It has excellent views of the sea and the Southern Alps. A warm, cosy and quiet space with a private garden. Free Wifi Downstairs is the living room / kitchenette area. Upstairs and downstairs are connected by external stairs (see photos). Awesome outdoor bath - great for stargazing. There are balconies on three sides of the tower.
