Ansari House

Thank you for looking at Ansari House! We are a family-run homestay located in Sujata Village (also called Bakraur Village), which is right across the river from Bodhgaya town and a short walk to Mahabodhi Temple (where Buddha attained enlightenment). We have a spacious three-story house with a large rooftop area where you can enjoy views of Mahabodhi Temple, Bodh Gaya town, and Sujata / Bakraur Village. This listing is for a private room with private bathroom which can sleep 1-2 people.

It is a perfect ‘Inn’ for a soul seeking solitude amidst the natural setting of the Himalayan environ with a thirst for a bit of adventure as one can go for hiking or cycling through the magnificent pine and rhododendron forests to the destination of one’s choice. We have a nursery and an organic farm in our premises, from where you can experience of seeing the vegetables grow and harvest them directly for cooking. The homestay is run by my wife, Pema and me, we manage the 44-acre mountain farm which consists of open mixed forest of pine, Himalayan alder, schima, chestnut, magnolia, rhododendrons, cherry also farm cardamom, ginger, mangoes, peaches and tea.
