Looking for a remote cabin for a romantic getaway or a relaxing time in the big north woods? Ellen’s Cabin is off-grid, has no running water and limited cell service. 1/2 mile from a dirt road and the North Country Trail, in the rugged Michigamme Highands, close to Silver Lake and Dead River Basins. There are lots of opportunities for biking, hiking, fishing and canoeing. A winter wonderland if skiing or snowshoeing are your passions. We are 45 minutes from Ishpeming and an hour from Marquette.

Hiking, Snowshoeing, Cross Country Skiing, Snowmobiling, 4 Wheeling, Fishing, Etc. 1220 feet above sea level, Huron Mountain Range.

The lovely town of Munising and the infamous Pictured Rocks just an hour away. Bring your snowmobiles and fat tire bikes! Enjoy some skiing at Marquette Mountain, 13.7 miles away. Upper Peninsula adventures away you!

Small hand hewn log cabin on Chocolay River. Good fishing, approximately 5 miles from snowmobile and ORV trails. Full kitchen. 1 BR (Q), Full sofa sleeper and 1 bath. Outdoor electric sauna. A fire pit. Washer/dryer. Basic amenities. Full kitchen. There is WiFi but cell service can be very sketchy. Texting does seem to work ok. We do have a cell phone booster there but it still isn’t great. If you need to make a call you can drive about 1 mile out to US 41 and service is good.

This 100 year old hand hewn log cabin is perched up on a bluff which looks out over Juncob Lake on one side, and The Michigamme River on the other. The top of the bluff offers a nice open area for admiring the lake, hammocking, stargazing, or a lawn game. Out the back entrance of the cabin there is a small system of trails to take you on a short hike along the Michigamme, or, you can stay inside and enjoy a warm beverage cozied up by the wood burning fireplace!

Enjoy a peaceful stay in a cedar log cabin nestled on thirty wooded acres overlooking Lake Superior. Located approximately 20 miles north from Marquette, the cabin is a short drive to Lake Independence and Lake Superior. In the winter, take advantage of the close proximity to snowmobile and cross-country ski trails. In the summer, enjoy hiking and leisurely beach days. Spend quiet nights gazing at the starry sky, and wake up early to catch the superior sunrise.
