This charming family getaway sits just 600 steps from the Pacific Ocean in Playa Junquillal, Guanacaste; a province famed for sunshine, surfing, fishing, eco-adventures and incredible breathtaking natural beauty.
Both of the spacious bedrooms feature a queen bed for two with shared full bathroom with shower. The living room area has two futons which turn into double beds.
Thoroughly furnished with local hardwood furniture wood and beautiful original art. Granite kitchen fully loaded with everything you need to cook except the food (which you can get from the fairly-priced supermarket nearby). Ideal for a family looking for luxury, seclusion, and safety all at a moderate price.
This unit has a large covered patio and a well-equipped kitchen with custom cabinetry, full-size stainless steel refrigerator, modern stove/oven, coffee maker, microwave, toaster, blender, silverware, plates, mixing bowls, cups, glasses, pots, pans, etc.
The gorgeous bean-shaped pool has a three-foot deep section for children and a five-foot deep section adults with lights for night-time swimming. Several outdoor lounge chairs and a large covered rancho enable you to relax by the pool. Plenty of beach/pool towels and an outdoor shower ensure that you are always clean and dry when entering the house. Speaking of clean and dry, our full-equipped laundry room with full-size washer/dryer will ensure that you are able to have clean clothes throughout your stay and for your return home.
Your peaceful relaxation here will be interrupted only by a wonderful variety of tropical birds and the monkeys which often visit the nearby trees. Located just 1.5 hours south of the Guanacaste Airport in Liberia, 30 minutes from the endless amenities of Playa Tamarindo and only 15 minutes from the world-famous surf breaks of Playa Negra and Playa Avellanas, Casa Mariposa is your convenient “home away from home” in Costa Rica.

- Surfing – nearby Playa Negra and Playa Avellanas offer amazing surf for a variety of skill levels
- Snorkeling – nearby Playa Blanca and Playa Callejones feature tidal pools that are a treat for the youngster with his first mask or anyone who loves to see the variety of rockfish and other creatures in the sea. South of Junquillal is San Juanillo; a calm white sand harbor that is a dream to snorkel for both amateur and accomplished snorkelers alike.
- Turtle Hatching – VerdiAzul is a local organization whose mission is to increase the success rate for turtle eggs laid on Playa Junquillal. If your timing is lucky, you may be able to see a release of baby turtles into the ocean!
- Canopy Tours/Horseback Riding – Pura Aventura is located just 15 minutes away from Junquillal, the Canopy consist of 11 cables and a swinging bridge and rappel at the end. You can also have a horseback riding tour throughout their farm.
- Golf – only 20 minutes away from Hacienda Pinilla, the 18 hole championship golf course is waiting for you.

Please note that with the solid Spanish Mediterranean steel reinforced concrete building style of our community, this style of home does not typically come equipped with smoke or carbon monoxide detector. Instead, for a grease or kitchen fire, the common best practice for this region is the fire extinguisher located under the kitchen sink. Carbon monoxide is not produced in this building. We may decide to handle this differently in the future; this is the current update.
Guest access
You'll be provided with codes to the lock boxes and smart locks which will gain you access to the keys that you will use for the duration of your stay. The smart lock code will only function for the duration of your reservation.
Other things to note
If you are traveling with small children, please note, the house is not baby-proofed. Parents need to keep an eye on their little ones.
