On a regular summer day I used to sleep on the rooftop in a hammock, surrounded by the bougainvillea and lemon trees under the imposing rock of the Acropolis. In the winter, I played board games with my classmates by the fireplace. No doubt, I consider myself spoiled growing up a stone’s throw away from the Parthenon and the newly established Acropolis Museum. The cradle of democracy, the birth of theater and philosophy, temples and Byzantine churches, an Ottoman era mosque, bars, restaurants, cafes, monuments, ancient arches are all a few minutes stroll from my maternal house. History is everywhere and it is inescapable. Yet, modern Athens has more to offer. The local flea market at Monastiraki, the meat, fish, and vegetable markets of Athinas Street, and lastly Ermou, the city’s main shopping street are all a mere 10 minutes walk away from the apartment. Situated in Parthenon’s shadow, 5 minutes by foot from the Acropolis metro station, the apartment extends over two hundred square meters (2,156 square feet). Two bedrooms, a large kitchen, two bathrooms and a WC, a spacious living room encompassing a study, a balcony, a roof garden with a permanent dinner table, and an indoor patio which doubles as breakfast area are all placed right in the hustle and bustle of Plaka; the center of classical, medieval and early modern Greece. The house is located in the top floor of a two level late 19th century period building. It has been recently renovated and offers all 21st century amenities in a space overflowing with Mediterranean light. It can accommodate up to 6 people and is ideal for families and small groups traveling through Greece. Yet, the starting price level does not exclude couples or a pair of friends. After all, luxury and exclusivity were not in the vocabulary of democratic Athens. I would be more than eager to host you through airbnb and give you a tone of tips on your stay in Europe’s oldest city. Specialized tour guides can be arranged at an extra cost.

Τα Αναφιώτικα είναι μια από τις παλιότερες γειτονιές της Αθήνας και κρατά ακόμα το χρώμα και τον χαρακτήρα που είχε από παλιά. Είναι περιοχή αμιγούς κατοικίας. Στην ταράτσα του όποιος καθίσει έχει την ευκαιρία να δει την Αθήνα από το ψηλότερο δυνατό σημείο και να αισθανθεί την θετική ενέργεια του μέρους το οποίο όχι τυχαία επέλεξαν οι αρχαίοι Έλληνες για να φτιάξουν ένα από τα επτά θαύματα του κόσμου!

Kourkoula House

Welcome to Kourkoula House, a little piece of heaven in Monemvasia, Greece. The traditional house is one of the oldest buldings of the greater area of the Castle of Monemvasia. Located just above the first port of the area named "Kourkoula", it has now turned into a very hospitable place. Armira Boat House is located literally a few steps away from the sea in the small, remote, traditional seaside community of Fyropotamos. Originally built by my ancestors in the early 1900s to serve as a fisherman’s cottage and boat house traditionally known as “sirma”, it is a unique example of Cycladic traditional architecture and is one of the very few of its kind.

The stone-built apartments are located in Pyrgos-Santorini, with a spectacular view of Santorini. The apartments have two bedrooms with a double bed and two beds, a living room with a sofa bed, a bathroom, a kitchen and a courtyard with views of the island. Within 5 minutes there are taverns, mini market, bus stop.

Ergina's Boat House is a traditional house built in the sea front! It is a two storey building offering the very basic facilities. On the ground floor there is the kitchen with the big door overlooking the sea water and on the upper floor there is the bedroom with the balcony.
